Dataforce is excited to announce some great new features in our latest release of Dataforce ASAP!
Client attribute moved from Customer to Job.
The Client attribute, has been moved from the Customer, to the Job.
Having the Client attribute on the customer record meant that all Jobs belonging to the same customer would inherit the same Client.
This is not a very flexible approach, especially after the introduction of Sales Pipelines and the move towards are more CRM based approach where return visits and additional jobs for the same customer can be recorded against the same customer record.
The Client for a Job can be seen on the Job Summary screen as shown in the below screenshot.
Changing the client on a Job can be done in multiple ways:
Changing the Client for a single job
Use the ‘Change Job Client’ option from within the ‘Job Actions’ tab within a Job. (single job)
Changing the Client for a multiple jobs
Use the bulk action called ‘Change Job Client’ via the advanced search (to change multiple jobs)
Stamp counter tool
A new counting tool has been introduced under the ‘Files & Photos’ tab within a job.
The aim of this tool is to provide you with a method for counting items within a photo. For example: lamps, or ballasts.
Counter stamps can be saved onto the photo, cleared from the photo, and repositioned as required.
This provides auditors with a more efficient way of counting items within a photo, and saving the counters onto the photo for future reference.
Built-in Form templates
To ease the burden of managing updates to form templates, such as assignment forms, nomination forms, and other common forms, we have introduced a new built-in template library to provide shared templates with pre-configured mappings.
This means that future revisions of forms can be deployed with ease and will not require any manual mapping.
The new form library currently contains pre-configured VEU assignment forms, STC forms, and a few other forms, but this library of forms will continue to grow. Over the next few months we plan to add:
- Other VEU scheme forms (additional Assigment forms, Commercial lighting forms such as AS/NZS 1680 forms, LUX reports, Data Summary, Maintained Illuminance)
- Solar Victoria forms (for Hot Water claims)
- ESS (IHEAB/HEER/CLF) forms (Nomination forms, Installer declarations, Assessor declarations, CLF forms, etc)
- Various Invoice templates
- Various Quotation and Proposal templates
Importing sales leads
You can now import Sales leads directly from an Excel file using the new Sales Leads import function.
Leads that are importing will create a Job only (no appointment) and can be assigned directly to a Sales Pipeline.

Form cover pages
With the introduction of built-in form templates, we have also included an option to attach your own custom cover pages to the built-in forms, allowing for a more personalised form. This means you can add a custom cover page (or multiple pages) to the start of another form. The cover page will be merged onto the form when it is generated.
Cover pages can be created and mapped using the form designer in the same way that traditional forms are created, however they are managed from a new screen which can be accessed via Forms Form cover pages
You can link a cover page to a traditional form, via the Form Type configuration screen.
Powerpal integration
Dataforce has partnered with Powerpal to bring you an improved and more efficient installation process when installing the Powerpal In-Home-Display product under Activity 30 of the VEU scheme.
Previously, installers would need to use both Dataforce Runabout and the Powerpal Installer app to complete an IHD installation. Now, everything can be done through Dataforce Runabout and the Powerpal installer app is no longer required.
This means no more double data entry, and much faster installations for your fieldworkers.
Contact us for instructions on how to enable this integration in your Dataforce instance.
