Overview
A Client in Dataforce is a flexible way to group jobs under a specific entity. This can be for a number of reases such as:
- Controlling access to the jobs
- Controlling which forms and emails are valid for jobs that belong to the client
- Grouping jobs together for forward contracts or certificate aggregation
Clients and Agents are two entities in Dataforce that you can assign access rules to.
This allows you to create operators who can only see the jobs assigned to a one or more clients.
You can Add or Modify client entities from the Client Register.
The ‘Visible on New’ option in the client register controls which clients can be selected when creating a new job.
If more than one client is available, the user creating the job will be prompted to select which client the job is to be created under. If only one client option is available, then it will be applied automatically.
The client of a job can be changed later via the job actions tab within the job by selecting ‘Change Job Client’
